Cheeseburgers and fries.

April 28, 2013

Today was the perfect day for grilling cheeseburgers. It was really the perfect day to be outside. And we took full advantage of it. It’s hard to believe that a week ago we were dealing with an impending snow storm.

1 lb ground beef

2 tbsp worchestire

3 garlic cloves minced

1 tbsp onion powder

s&p to taste

Combine all of the above ingredients and form 4 patties. Grill for 8-9 minutes. Top with cheese and serve. You could grill them for a shorter amount of time if you like a little pink in your burger. We like ours done hence the longer cooking time.

Serve with the perfect combination of toppings. For me that’s cooked onions, dijon mustard and dill pickle relish. For Mike that’s cooked onions, cooked mushrooms, ketchup and mayo. Whatever floats your boat really.

Oven fries

1 lb yukon potatoes

seasoning of your choice (tonight we did tsp of poultry run, tsp of mustard powder and 1/2 tsp of hot paprika)

s&p to taste

Cut potatoes into equal size wedges. Mix with 1 tbsp olive oil, seasonings and s&p. Arrange evenly on cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes. Flip fries halfway through the cooking time.

I also roasted some broccoli and cauliflower to add some veggies to the meal. The burgers were really the stars of the show. Wait I take that back, the sunshine really took the cake today.
